The Running Hare is a manifestation of Donald Gialanella’s creative imagination and his talents as an international artist specializing in the design and production of public art. During his artist-in-residence at Arthub, he became intrigued by the hares he encountered during morning walks in the desert.

He was inspired to create an anthropomorphic hare using car parts as a tribute to the automotive history of Route 66. The materials for the unique sculpture were provided by Bulldog Scrap Recycling in Kingman. Funding and transportation of the sculpture to this location were provided by Scott Dunton of the Kingman Route 66 Association.
