On the Propel (colloquial for "Brachbühl" = court place), a mountain spur over the Werra with old linden trees, the landgraves and their successors maintained a central court place.
Court acts are mentioned several times in documents. The court was later transferred to Haineck Castle near Nazza.
The Propel became the fairground of the Mihlaer. Shooting festivals and fairs still have a permanent place there today.

In 1732, the last documented execution of a murderer on the Mihlaer Propel took place in front of the court lime tree.
