Nature site De Pol at the Etten sewage treatment plant. In addition to sewage treatment, a nature reserve has been created with a diversion for part of the water of the Oude IJssel. There is a weir on site, with a lock in the Oude IJssel. The lock is only rarely used and is therefore an obstacle to the fish in the river. In addition to virtually stagnant water, the diversion also includes a fish ladder in the form of a small whitewater course.
