I approached the tunnel from Belqiza.
There are several tunnels before that are very narrow and steep, leading uphill.
The large tunnel would actually be easy to navigate from this side because it leads downhill, if it weren't for a bike-prohibition sign just before the tunnel.
THE PROHIBITION SIGN IS JUST BEFORE THE TUNNEL; I didn't see one before.
The previous section, almost 6 km long and with a 7% gradient, is more difficult to manage.

Gravel riding
I drove through the tunnel towards Tiranë on a Monday because I hadn't seen the no-entry sign. It was dusty and stuffy inside, and I just wanted to get out. Luckily, there was little traffic, and I was able to drive through at 30-40 km/h. Next time, I would definitely bypass the tunnel via the mountain pass road.

Coming from Bulqiza toward Tirana, there's a clear no-cycling and no-pedestrian sign in front of the tunnel. A traffic controller gave me an additional warning and directed me to the bypass. It's quiet, with varying road quality and, in places, very steep. But it was a pleasant ride. It's about an additional 300 meters of elevation gain. Given the traffic there, you should take the no-pedestrian sign seriously if you value your life.
