On the eastern pier, however, stands a typical lighthouse, familiar from numerous photos. Although a pier light existed here as early as 1903, it was replaced 34 years later by the current lighthouse. It is an octagonal, 15-meter-high steel structure with a surrounding balcony. The lighthouse is green with a white band. The lighthouse is 15 meters high. Both the pier light and the lighthouse are listed buildings. The lighthouse can be recognized in the city's coat of arms, and the eastern pier light was a postage stamp motif during the GDR era.
