Lake Wörth, formerly known as Ausee, is located in the northern Starnberg district in Upper Bavaria. It is one of the lakes in the Five Lakes Region: Ammersee, Wörthsee, Weßlinger See, Pilsensee, and Starnberger See. The average water level of the lake, which lies in its own basin, is approximately 27 meters higher than that of the neighboring Ammersee to the west. Its catchment area is small, with an area of either 17 or 26.35 km², depending on the source. Most of the shore is privately owned and inaccessible. There are a total of five major bathing areas on the lake. The lake is owned by Count Cajetan zu Toerring-Jettenbach.
