The hike through the Gerolsteiner Dolomites offers repeated, breathtaking views of this magnificent Eifel landscape. Corals and other aquatic organisms (naturally fossilized) can still be found today. Approximately 380 million years ago, the Eifel region was located at the equator and covered by a shallow sea. The volcanic ash, once over 1100°C in temperature and deposited in layers, provides a deep insight into the geology of this region – spectacular.

At Kasselburg Castle, the Eagle & Wolf Park offers wonderful experiences with the birds of prey flight show (11 a.m. & 3 p.m.) and the wolf feeding (11:45 a.m. & 3:45 p.m.).

So, hiking enthusiasts, put on sturdy hiking boots and head out into the wonderful natural surroundings.
