The shape of the bridge is inspired by the so-called golden ratio or Fibonacci spiral. The price of the whole was kept lower than versions with prestressed concrete by working with floating pontoons: 28 concrete containers that are filled with insulation, are hinged together and held in place by 26-meter-long tubular piles, according to bouwkroniek.be/openbare-ruimte-infra/ingenieuze-pontons-slingeren-sierlijk-tussen-mijnterrils-51497
