It is located a few dozen meters from the New Castle and, due to its architecture, also has a palace character.
Courtyard: The most beautiful element of the castle is the inner, Renaissance courtyard with arcaded cloisters, which due to its beauty is sometimes called the "Little Wawel".
Current state: The Old Castle houses the Żywiec City Museum. It is fully open to tourists. You can visit, among other things, a rich ethnographic exhibition, sacred art, the history of the city, and an exhibition dedicated to the Habsburgs themselves.
