Hiking
The blue and yellow wooden barge with its characteristic side floats represents an adapted fassone, a traditional fishing boat of Sardinian coastal communities. Its flat design and stabilizing outriggers allow navigation in shallow lagoon waters while providing safety in rough seas. While modern motorboats in the background illustrate the current recreational use of Sardinian coastal waters, the fassone bears witness to centuries-old fishing traditions dating back to Phoenician and Roman influences, which continue to this day in local fishing methods and maritime customs.
