    Hiking

Coaquaddus is a long beach characterized by large-grained white sand, divided into two parts by a massive rock and bordered by limestone cliffs. It represents one of the gems of the island of Sant'Antioco. Its name, which means "horses' tail", derives from the sinuosity of the coast with numerous inlets.

On Sant'Antioco and the neighboring island of San Pietro, Tabarquin (Italian Tabarchino), a dialect that goes back to the Genoese, is still spoken today. The Tabarquin dialect and culture is now under the special protection of the autonomous region of Sardinia and is taught in schools in the two municipalities of Calasetta (located opposite San Pietro) and Carloforte. However, in the center of Sant'Antioco the Campidan Sardinian language is spoken.
