It includes a huge villa and an even bigger garden, where the royal family could enjoy a relaxing weekend outdoors in peace. The extraordinary country house was also used for hunting, which is why it is dedicated to Diana, the goddess of the hunt.

This great complex was the inspiration for the palace of Versailles in France. When the king of France came to visit the Savoy family was greatly impressed by the grandeur and architecture. He then obtains the plans made by the royal architect Juvarra and gave them to his architect to replicate the design. The Venaria Palace is now open for visits and a must see if you are visiting Turin or the Piemonte region.
