The stone Znamenskaya Church was built in 1745 with funds from the peasant A.P. Lyubimov (burgomaster of the village, wine tax farmer). The temple was part of the Znamensky Convent, which existed since the 15th century. In 1764, the convent was closed, and the church became a parish church. In 1813, a second floor was added, consecrated in the name of the Holy Trinity, after which the temple began to be called Troitsko-Znamensky.
In 1816-1823, in honor of the victory of Russian arms over Napoleon, a high bell tower was erected with funds from the manufacturer K.V. Kokushkin, the owner of a local factory. It is the third tallest bell tower in the Ivanovo region - 76 meters. The author of the project is the Italian Gaudenzio Maricelli. Perhaps the bell tower was completed by the Shuya architect Pavel Voronin. In 1870, a clock with chimes and four dials from the Butenope Brothers company (year of production – 1858) was installed in the bell tower.
