Situated on the high right bank of the Ukhtokhma River, on the main square in the centre of the village, the complex consists of two churches built with funds from a local peasant, A.P. Lyubimov: in 1725-39, the winter Church of the Nativity of Christ with a bell tower was built, replacing the old wooden one, mentioned back in 1628, and in 1745, the summer Kazan Church appeared next to it. The complex occupies a dominant position in Lezhnev's panorama; the vertical of the bell tower plays a special urban planning role. The Znamenskaya Church and bell tower, stretched out in a line perpendicular to the river, compositionally echo the complex of the Kazan and Nativity of Christ churches located to the south of them. One of the striking rural ensembles, uniting religious and civil buildings in the classical style. The Church of the Sign is an interesting monument that combines architectural features of two eras: the forms and decor of the lower church develop the architectural techniques of the 17th century, while the upper church and porch have a traditional composition and decoration in the style of early classicism.
