The huge water pump in the middle of the Place de la Halle was replaced by the famous Tuturette, a small fountain built by the architect Demany, the same one who designed the plans for the current town hall. The water comes from a thin limestone massif, curved and flanked by two convex pilasters and two volutes. A crowned coat of arms shows the intertwined letters C and M, which stands for "Clara Montis". Above the spout hangs a wrought-iron gallows, which holds the buckets. Although residents have claimed for decades that they suffered no ill effects from drinking the water, the water has been declared undrinkable after analysis.
