Bergkirche Nimburg

It is worthwhile to linger a bit there and to relax in the enclosed cemetery. Unfortunately the church is almost always locked.

Today it presents itself as an imposing Romanesque building with Baroque elements.The view from the mountain church of the Rhine Valley and the Vosges is particularly impressive. On a clear day you can see as far as the Swiss Alps. Various hiking trails lead from the church through the idyllic landscape of the Breisgau.Cyclists also get their money's worth here: the cycle path along the Rhine runs directly below the mountain church and offers a wonderful view of the river and the surrounding vineyards.
