Today we took advantage of the last hours of sunshine 🌞 before the weather changed to explore a new walking route near Eichstetten, in the territory of @Smerga and @Dave Rave.



It's perfect for a walk with the dogs 🐕🐕, as there's no traffic and lovely rest areas by the mill pond. It's a very sunny

To help the dogs cope with the stress and anxiety of the New Year's Eve fireworks, at least in the afternoon, we walked almost the same route around the Haldenköpfle four days ago.



This way, we had plenty of sunshine, enough space for the dogs to run around, and it was quite peaceful.



To all nature lovers

We had another afternoon hike, a "reloaded" version of the one we last did in August 2022.



"Afternoon hikes" are a real time crunch at this time of year, since you only have about four hours available, including travel time. Luckily, at least time-wise, things are starting to feel more like summer again

Hiking on, around, or up to the Kandel mountain is always a special treat.



This route is actually a slightly modified version of the "Josef-Seger-Weg," probably the most famous and attractive circular trail around the Kandel.



Below the large Kandel rock, I chose the "Damenpfad" (Ladies' Path) to ascend

Exploring mostly unfamiliar territory near Bötzingen.



The loop around the Gottenheimer Riedweiher pond is secluded and quite sunny. The pond itself is private property and not suitable for swimming or recreation. (Trespassing prohibited 🤷‍♂️) A pity. 😌



The other loop – the forest adventure trail – winds

This year, too, we hiked our "Christmas walk" in the "Teninger Almend" (a wooded area between Teningen, Emmendingen, and Reute) on Christmas Eve.
