The Walser village of Sapün-Dörfji is a true gem of the idyllic high valley. The sun-tanned wooden facades of the old farmhouses are sometimes decorated with pious sayings or simply provide information about the type of house (e.g., post office or schoolhouse). Some of the inscriptions date back to the 15th century, thus impressively demonstrating how long the valley has been inhabited.

Mountain biking

The Heimeli mountain inn is an exquisite place to relax with a fine meal and stunning scenery, before enjoying a leisurely descent back down to Langwies. The Langwies Viaduct of the Rhaetian Railway is worth seeing there. From there, a detour to Arosa is recommended, or the descent through the Schanfigg to Chur.
