Hiking Highlight (Segment)
This is really only a via ferrata and should only be done by experienced hikers and climbing enthusiasts. Via ferrata set with strap and helmet are actually to create. And please think of the right equipment especially on the right footwear. Flip-flops or sneakers are out of place here. To climb you need both hands and not the beer bottle in your hand. Garbage is also taken please. It is a national park and the National Park Guard controls and is not afraid of punishment. And remember, please only commit in ascension.

Very nice stairs. However, you have to be free from giddiness. Careful take ask for climbing gear or harnesses.

Beautiful staircase with two parts that has been converted in recent years to a real via ferrata. The lower part consists mainly of tread braces that pull up on small walls and around corners. The upper part attracts with a classic large fireplace (rustic entrance gap), which runs in the upper part over rocky ridges.
Is needed grds. a via ferrata set as well as sturdy shoes, if necessary via ferrata or bicycle gloves for the ladders, brackets and steel cables.

Here is the same as for the twin staircase: timely seems to ensure peace and congestion-free climbing.

It is probably the most exciting via ferrata in Saxon Switzerland. The view at the top is terrific. Without via ferrata set for adults possible. Presumed dizziness. Always secure children with a via ferrata set! The twin stairs in the immediate vicinity you should immediately with (best before) commit. Who creates this, gets also the Häntzschelstiege out!

If you like via ferrata, you shouldn't miss it! ⛰
Since it was our first, we climbed it with equipment and thus safety. ❕
This is handled very differently there. 🤔
The look of the short, adventurous tour is wonderful !!!
Once at the top there are several options for further hiking routes. Really top 🔝🤗

Very exciting, but beware, everyone with vertigo or claustrophobia is on the wrong path here.

With 64 the first and last time the upper part went, this year at 68 we have chosen the detour. The courage had left us.

The Häntschelstiege is for hikers probably one of the most beautiful climbs in the monkey stones. Surefootedness is required in any case, who suffers from fear of heights, should put on a harness, which brings a lot of safety. On the half of the stairs you can decide whether to walk the upper Affenstein promenade in the direction of Frienstein or towards Carolafelsen. Otherwise, the second part of the stairs is a bit more demanding. You will be rewarded in any case by the breathtaking view.

Spectacular and varied.
The ascent or descent is without climbing harness or other equipment readily possible.
There are enough handles and steps processed in sandstone.
The panorama is definitely worth it.
In thunderstorms, rain or wet, I would advise against, as well as trip with small children.

Beautiful and varied stairs.
It's easier from the bottom up.
No climbing gear for adults - children would recommend a belt.
Should every hiker have made times :-)
From Kirnitzschtal quickly reach.

highly recommended in the region. Not because of its length or the difficulty, but because of its charm. Getting started is not that easy.
The hike starts at the Beuthenfall. From the parking lots or the tram stop, go up the first 50 meters on the steep forest road. A small path turns to the right. Direction of the monkey stones. The path leads pretty straight up to the bare stick. The lower Affenstein promenade must be crossed. From this forest path, the path is marked with the red line up to the rock face. The marked hiking trail turns left on the rock face, but to get to the Häntzschelstiege it goes right along the rock face.
First you have to climb over one of these fences, which is a boundary between the hiking and climbing areas. At the transition over the fence is the first sign of the Häntz Schel staircase. The path runs up a few steps up the slope to a fork in the path. The path to the Häntzschelstiege turns to the left. To the right you would come to the twin stairs. But this is already described on another round and therefore it goes up to the left over some stairs and chicken ladders up the mountain. The actual start of the Häntzschel staircase is to the left of the gorge. At the end of the lower Häntzschelstiege you reach the upper Affenstein promenade.
The upper Häntzschelstiege begins almost exactly opposite. It is not so easy to see, but if you know that there is an entrance to a chimney to the right of the rock face, you will find the next part of the route quite well. Then it goes through the chimney with some clips and ladders. But nothing more will be revealed :-) Have fun

Great climb for people who are looking for some thrills. Anyone who claims that as an adult you need no backup, the consequences is not clear. Without a fuse it is life threatening !!!

Since the "iron share" was increased and modernized, it is feasible for everyone, with or without self-assurance.

A really nice climb. Experienced indoor or alpine climbers can certainly go this route without security from the technology. Basically, I would always recommend with backup, even if you always see people without security. The crevices are deep and narrow, slipping has fatal injury consequences and a mountain rescue there is extremely difficult. Especially children should be secured. The subsequent view is worthwhile.
