    Hiking

Anderson Pass (12,800 feet) is the highest point on the Uinta Highline Trail and connects to Kings Peak, which is the tallest mountain in Utah at 13,528 feet. The eastern approach from Painter Basin involves a steady climb through rocky terrain and alpine tundra. Near the summit of the pass, at about 12,400 feet, there is a hidden spring that crosses the trail, and offers a surprisingly reliable water source. It is not a big spring, however, so best collected using a small container or even a plastic ziplock.
