Dead Horse Lake is a stunning, deep blue alpine lake nestled below Dead Horse Pass in Utah's High Uintas Wilderness. Accessible via an approximately 11-mile hike through expansive meadows and stunning vistas, the lake offers excellent opportunities for fishing and day hiking, or overnight camping if hiking along the Uinta Highline Trail. If camping in the area, it's essential to practice Leave No Trace principles to preserve the pristine environment. Ensure campsites are set up at least 200 feet away from water sources, and be mindful of current fire restrictions before starting any campfires.
