The church was built between 1906 and 1914 to replace the previous one, now called the ‘Old Church’. A single-nave temple in neoclassical style, facing east to west, it has a curved façade covered in blue and white tiles, and is organised with the bell tower in the centre, opened by a portal in a depressed arch topped by a large rectangular stained glass window, crowned by a clock ending in a bell tower and a bulbous dome protected by a balustrade and vases, finishing in a cross over an acroterium. The main door is flanked by two large stained glass windows, each topped by tile panels representing, the one on the left a fishing scene, alluding to Saint Peter (the fisherman), and the one on the right St. Bartholomew, the patron saint. Inside, the altarpieces, the modern main altar, in marble and granite, and the ceiling, in polychrome coffers, where the life of Saint Bartholomew is narrated, stand out.
