The church was donated to the chapter of Saint-Pierre de Lille by the Bishop of Tournai in the 12th century.
Only the bell tower remains of the old church of Roncq.
The first stone of the current building was laid on 13 April 1868. The plans were drawn up by Mr Maillard, an architect from Tourcoing.
This church, in Romanesque style, has the shape of a cross and a semicircular choir. The church is built of bricks mixed with some white stones.
