Since the opening in 2015 of the Caminito del Rey between Ardales and El Chorro in Álora, more than two million walkers have completed the spectacular 7.5 km walk, which has had an economic impact of at least 175 million euros on the region. Half of the visitors to the Caminito del Rey are foreigners and to make the experience better, the visitor centre was finally opened this week after a considerable delay.

The Caminito del Rey Visitor Center is located at Puerto de las Atalayas and serves as an ideal starting point for a trip along the famous via ferrata. It offers modern facilities such as informational materials about the route, restrooms, a viewpoint overlooking the surrounding landscape, and a parking lot with over 200 spaces. Tickets are not sold directly at the center, but online or at the northern access point. A shuttle bus connects the two entrances to the trail, facilitating arrival and departure for visitors.

After being inaugurated by local politicians and dignitaries in October 2022, the Caminito del Rey Visitor Reception Center opened to the general public in 2023.
Inside you will find exhibitions and information about the history of the area, with wonderful views of the Lakes of Ardales.
