Löwensen is a district of Bad Pyrmont with a picturesque, small village green. Löwensen is mentioned for the first time as early as the 10th century - it is assumed that the first settlers lived on an Emmer island to be safe from raids. For many centuries people have secured a sideline with basket weaving, in the 18th and 19th centuries a Quaker colony also lived here. The oldest house in the village is the former village inn from 1575.
