The Jahrhunderthalle in Bochum is an industrial monument and cultural highlight in one. It is an anchor point on the Route of Industrial Heritage and venue for events such as concerts, theater and shows. With the Ruhrtriennale, the Jahrhunderthalle houses the most important cultural festival in the Ruhrgebiet.

As a prime example of the structural change in the Ruhr area, the Jahrhunderthalle Bochum stands for the new understanding of culture in the Ruhr Metropolis. It is the center of the festival ground Ruhr, landmark of Bochum and dares the border crossing between tradition and modernity.

Mountain biking

The Jahrhunderthalle is an event hall in the Bochum district Stahlhausen. The hall was built in 1902 and then reused as a blower machine hall for the blast furnaces of the Bochum club. The name Jahrhunderthalle is used today for the entire building covering an area of 8,900 m². Here also the cycle path of the Erzbahntrasse begins to the Rhine-Herne-Kanal.

Cycling

The area around the Jahrhunderthalle offers everything to discover. Everywhere these old industrial buildings, but they are beautiful to look at and suggest what was going on here earlier. Via paths and many bridges you can find your own way through the terrain. Anyway, a nice, somehow exciting place for a break on the bike ride.

The Jahrhunderthalle itself hosts regular events. By the way, there is a RevierRad station next door, where you can also rent a bike, which you can later hand over to another RevierRad station on request.
