I wouldn't do the route towards the east (i.e. downhill), you're just braking because the surface is bad in places and the bends are far too tight to enjoy the downhill. I drove up, it was a great and interesting experience but I certainly won't do it a second time.

The reinforcement (metal grid) is exposed on a concrete section, be careful when going downhill!!!
