In the second half of the 16th century, a noble palace, the so-called Mühlensche Haus, was built in the characteristic surroundings between the later baroque residential palace and the late Gothic town church of Ingelfingen. Even then, this noble palace was popularly known as the "Black Court". It is a two-winged half-timbered building with an inner courtyard, which adjoins the southern fortification section of the town. The inner courtyard is characterized by arched openings, decorative half-timbered facades, paintings from the time of construction and lively arcades.
