The Kaiserpalais (the official name of Bad Oeynhausen's historic spa building since 2000) stands majestically and prominently at the highest point and southern end of the spa park. Built between 1906 and 1908 in the style of a neo-Baroque pleasure palace, it served the social and cultural entertainment of spa guests with its reading room, reception rooms, restaurants, a billiard room, and a magnificent concert hall. The Kaiserpalais has undergone many structural changes throughout its history. For example, the side wings, two Baroque pavilions, were so badly damaged during the British occupation (1945-1954) that they had to be demolished. From 1980 to 1999, the east wing housed the Bad Oeynhausen Casino. Since then, the trendy "Adiamo" nightclub has been a popular destination there. In the central part of the building, which once housed the concert hall, the GOP Variety Theatre has been a major crowd-puller since 2000, offering top-notch acrobatics, glamour and stage magic.
