Due to the massive religious conversion at the end of the 19th century, the 18th century Church of St. Catherine became too small for the Pärnu Orthodox community. Thus, in 1904, the historical Old Russian Pärnu Conversion of the Apostolic Orthodox Church of Our Lord was built and its parish (Estonian) was separated from the former parish of St. Catherine's Parish (Russian). The church had a brick facade typical of that period and a base made of granite ashlar work. The bell tower is 38 m high and the dome is 34 m high. The altar wall contains 11 icons and 11 large murals with figurative composition.
