Spectacular crossing of the three Corni di Canzo for expert hikers, described by me here proceeding from east to west. The description begins with the equipped section that is found after leaving the summit of Corno Rat and having taken an easy but steep climb in the woods. This chain helps the progression in a short climb of a few meters, and can be bypassed via the path visible on the right. After that, you follow a wide rocky ridge (30° OSA) without particular difficulties and you arrive at an altitude of 1140 msl at the base of the Corno Orientale. Continuing to the right towards the summit, you follow a section equipped with chains where I recommend the use of a harness and via ferrata set, the climb is not difficult but is very exposed (in the absence of a harness you can alternatively follow the track to the left losing altitude in the woods, a track that is not very evident but can be followed with the help of a GPS, this path will take you to the Bocchetta di Luera). After the exposed equipped section you then arrive at the summit of the Corno Orientale and descend towards the Luera pass with an easy path. From the Luera pass to the summit of the Corno Centrale you follow a ridge equipped with chains, the difficulty and exposure are lower than those encountered in the previous equipped section, and you can proceed even without protections, possibly helping yourself with the chains that facilitate progression. The final section is on a beautiful and panoramic flat ridge. From the summit of the Corno Centrale you descend via a steep and exposed path, without particular technical difficulties but to be followed with caution also due to the gravel surface. Finally you proceed towards the base of the Corno Occidentale and once you reach a nativity scene built in the rock you take a small canal on the left, after a short climb you reach the third and last summit, the Corno Occidentale. The crossing is completed by crossing the delicate and exposed Passo della Vacca ( komoot.com/it-it/highlight/7233723 ), it is not protected by chains and requires maximum attention and an absence of vertigo. This is the most delicate point of the entire crossing. Subsequently, on the left you encounter the arrival of the Venticinquennale via ferrata and finally you descend a steep path without further difficulties, reaching the beginning of the path that descends towards Gajum.

A superclassic where photos are wasted (not mine.....very few). Trip for via ferrata enthusiasts, trained, with a propensity for the exposed tastings. To be done in spring and autumn, at dawn or before sunset. On hot days in midsummer (like today June 15, not midsummer, but already hot enough), the views flatten in the haze.
