The round village established by Slavs was first mentioned on October 28, 1285. The ensemble is protected and bears the title Färbedorf. The local “Heimatverein” has set itself the goal of cultivating and promoting the historical tradition of textile dyeing with suitable dye plants. The highlight of club life and the public is the annual dye and craft festival on the last Saturday in August, at which dyers from all over Germany and partly from the rest of Europe show their craftsmanship. At this festival, the lovingly restored courtyards also open their doors to visitors. Other craftsmen also show their skills, for example potters, basket makers, rope makers and spinning houses.
