Hiking

When the Kiel Canal was put into operation in 1895, two lock chambers were used in Brunsbüttel and Kiel-Holtenau, which are now known as the Small Locks. As early as 1914, both locations were expanded to include two additional, larger lock chambers, which are now known as the Large Locks.
