Mountain Biking Highlight
Do not cross the White Magpie, stop immediately and spread! In the middle of the Clara Park, young Leipzig meets and everyone brings something along: themselves, music, juggling balls, children, friends, dogs, stories, sunglasses. Maybe the coffee bike is parked next to you? Espresso, please! The Sachsenbrücke over the Elsterflutbett connects the eastern and the western part of the Clara Zetkin Park (formerly King Albert Park) in Leipzig. Located southwest of the city center, it also represents the Anton-Bruckner-Allee for pedestrians and cyclists a car-free connection from the center to the west of Leipzig. The bridge got its name in memory of the change of sides of the Saxon troops of Napoleon Bonaparte to the allies during the Battle of Leipzig in 1813. Official but this name was not until November 7, 1901. The first building at the same place was built in 1897 for the Saxon-Thuringian industrial and commercial exhibition. The bridge in its present execution was created in 1928 after a broadening of the Elster flood bed.Further information at en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sachsenbr%C3%BCcke_%28Leipzig%29
