The tower is part of the former monastery of San Paolo, located in via Melloni, a deconsecrated Catholic monastery with Renaissance forms, located in via Macedonio Melloni in Parma. Once a center of culture and spirituality, since the 20th century it has been partly used as a museum, hosting the famous Chamber of the Abbess frescoed by Correggio for Giovanna da Piacenza.
The entire college has undergone a profound redevelopment and enhancement of the monumental complex of San Paolo, which has been underway since 2015 and, after the restoration of the bell tower of the former monastery, the works on the Cloister of the Fountain and the rooms surrounding it have finally been completed.
