The construction of the Maria Magdalenen church dates back to the beginning of the 13th century. Later, at the beginning of the 17th century, the bell tower was added, which was bricked at the end of the 19th century. The bells have the inscription faith, love, hope.

The Maria Magdalenen Church in Malente is the church in the municipality of Malente in the Ostholstein district in Schleswig-Holstein. It is located in the center of the town surrounded by the (former) church green. It is the oldest building in Malente and is now used by the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Malente for church services.

Cycling
The hill on which the church stands was probably a holy place in pre-Christian times. In 1702 the rectory burned down. The parish documents and altar equipment were lost. It was not until 1997 that the name of the church became "official" again. The name of the church was passed down orally for 295 years. We do not know for sure whether it had this name before 1702.
