The present church was built in the late Gothic style in the first half of the 15th century, most likely between 1439 and 1443. The church was founded by Bishop Andrzej of Bnin of Poznań. It was established as the main parish church of the newly founded city, taking over the functions of the older Church of St. Vitus.

Road cycling

This church is a Gothic temple, built in the years 1439-1443. It was rebuilt after fires in 1601 and 1818 and rebuilt in the 19th century. The neo-Gothic tower dates from 1907, rebuilt in place of the former Gothic one. Inside there are classicist altars from the first half of the 19th century.
