On the northern edge of the former Sodenberg basalt quarry site, you are right on the steep slope to the valley of the Franconian Saale. This opens up a fascinating view of the gentle low mountain range landscape of the southern Rhön and the floodplain at your feet. A few benches make this an ideal resting place with a view.
