The sculpture La Sirène was created in 2003 by the artist Corneille (1922-2010). Corneille was one of the founders of the artist group CoBrA. He was inspired by African culture, and many of his works depict female figures and birds. La Sirène represents a mermaid disguised as a fish. The sculpture was presented in September 2021 after extensive work by Marselisborg Art Association. The project is supported by the Salling Foundations.
