A lovely short walk to the Winneburg Castle ruins. The climb via the Winzerhaus is quite steep and leads up a narrow path through the forest. Halfway there, you'll spot the castle ruins in the treetops.

Once you reach the top, you'll have a fantastic view of Cochem. If you hike in the fall, you might be lucky enough to catch a foggy day. Then everything appears bathed in mystical light, and Cochem is hidden under a thick blanket of clouds. A magnificent spectacle. The entire walk can be completed in 45 minutes - good fitness and sturdy footwear are recommended. Dogs are welcome to join you on the walk.

The Winneburg Castle ruins are a fantastic, integrated destination on the "Cochem Knights' Tour." Knight tournaments are also held there in the summer. Otherwise, it's a wonderful place to linger, sunbathe, explore, and enjoy the view ☀️🏰
