The Koolhofput is a recreational area around the eponymous water body, on the border of the municipalities of Nieuwpoort and Koksijde, and close to the centre of Nieuwpoort-Stad and Ramskapelle. The 10 ha large water body was created in 1978 by sand extraction for the construction of the A18 motorway.
