Hiking

In the early 17th century, the Spanish continued to expand the city of Wesel into a fortress. They used the so-called Isselgraben to channel water into the city moats with the help of the Bärenschleuse. The name of the lock comes from the word "bear" in the old meaning "barrier". Thanks to restoration work, the lock is still operational.
