The monument to Bolesław Prus in Warsaw is located at Krakowskie Przedmieście, in the square named after Father Jan Twardowski. Unveiled in 1977, it shows the writer in a characteristic, thoughtful pose, symbolizing his frequent walks around the city. The bronze figure is 3.6 m high and stands on a granite slab. The idea of building the monument appeared as early as 1916, but it was not realized until several decades later thanks to the support of Warsaw craftsmen.
