The observation platform in the Halde Alstaden wetland biotope has been officially opened. In recent months, the city had the water areas exposed and the platform built.
Trees and undergrowth were removed from 50,000 square meters. The measure was controversial, especially among residents. However, the city is already seeing initial successes. The renaturation has paid off. The riverbank areas are developing as they were originally intended and the first nesting birds have already returned, they say. The viewing platform is made of wood.
