In 1936 on June 24th, St. John's Day, the foundation stone was laid. On January 4, 1937, the Vorwerk official inaugurated the “St. John Chapel”.
In 1961 the chapel community was elevated to a parish. St. Johannes remained an independent parish until October 3, 2007.
