Reconstruction 2016 and funded with LEADER funds. Contribution of the local community of Stadecken-Elsheim to the 200th anniversary of Rheinhessen.

In the period from 1797 to 1814, French rule extended to Mainz. In the spring of 1813, the French erected a strange structure between Elsheim, Schwabenheim and Wackernheim. Above the building rose a tall ladder-like structure of wood and iron, with one long and two shorter movable slanting beams at the top. It was a telegraph station.
