The Carlswerk was built in 1828 and is now a walk-through technical monument. Information panels demonstrate the workings of existing equipment, and the two gentlemen from the museum were very keen to explain everything to us in a clear and concise manner. To preserve the industrial heritage in Mägdesprung, a documentation center for the history of technology was established in the former "Carlswerk" machine factory, so again, we highly recommend it.

Exhibition about the old machine factory. Guided tour available against donation. On the upper floor you can find out how the name Maids' Leap came about: the footprint of a giant is said to have left its mark here as it jumped to a girl.
