This is an equestrian monument. In 1921 it was placed on Wawel Hill, but it did not survive the war - on February 17, 1940 it was destroyed by the Germans. In 1960 it was reconstructed by the Germans as the only monument in Poland and returned to its original location as a gift from the people of Dresden to the city of Kraków.
