    With the switch from truck transport (komoot.com/de-de/highlight/6597290?ref=whd) to a suction dredger for replenishing the beaches of Lønstrup with sand, significantly larger quantities are now available, allowing the beach next to the pier to be replenished almost to the groynes.

    Presumably as part of this process, a path from near the harbor to close to the waterline, where the sand grains are compacted, was paved with plastic panels. This ensures that cyclists can travel almost all the way to Harerenden without having to push their bikes, and that they don't end up tracking half the beach home in their shoes when the weather makes walking barefoot unpleasant.
