The village of Laion is located at almost 1,100 meters above sea level, just above the point where the Val Gardena branches off from the Isarco Valley toward the Dolomites.Visible from afar is the large parish church, dedicated to Saints Stephen and Lawrence, dating back to the 19th century. All that remains of the old Romanesque church is the bell tower, which was given a Baroque onion dome around 1715. A second, older church building is located nearby: the Church of Our Lady, dating back to the 12th century. At its foot lies the beautiful village square, which, with its cozy restaurants, invites you to linger.
